Course Overview:
The course will provide students with an introduction to the basics of financial accounting and highlight key aspects of financial reporting that are important to users of financial information. The course will cover the preparation of key financial statements and the frameworks of accounting regulation. The course participants will also be introduced to financial statement analysis and research on the use of accounting information in financial markets.
Aims of the Course:
The course aims to introduce course participants to the basics of financial accounting and analysis. By the end of the course, participants should have a basic understanding of preparing key financial statements, perform high-level financial analysis and research. The course will be useful for participants with no prior knowledge of accounting, as well as participants looking to refresh their understanding of basic financial accounting.
Course Content:
- Introduction to accounting
- Double-entry bookkeeping and accounting conventions
- Balance sheet (current assets, current liabilities, non-current assets, depreciation)
- Introduction to the income statement
- Introduction to the cash-flow statement
- The basics of debt vs equity trade-off
- Financial statement analysis

Please note: due to a large number of cancellations, all course bookings will require a £5 deposit, this is a new strategy we are using to ensure delegates attend courses they have booked onto.
Your booking will not be verified without payment of the deposit, meaning, without submitting a deposit you cannot attend the course.
The deposit will be returned once attendance has occurred. Alternatively, you can opt to donate your deposit to the trainer to show appreciation for their efforts as all of our trainers’ work on a voluntary basis.
If you do not attend you will not be entitled to receive the return of this deposit.
You must cancel or reschedule at least 72 hours before the date and time the course is set to commence in order for the deposit returned.
